We got a gate!
Concetta and Hunter cleared the Japanese honeysuckle and blackberries from the road side and sunk two posts in concrete. Then we secured a gate between them. Eventually it'll be a portal in a perimeter fence, but for now it's just a disembodied, farm-red gate.
We got someone to bush-hog several acres on the other side of the driveway, so an army of saplings has been brought down! The newly-cleared land is a tangle of grass guarded by a few young Loblolly pines, sloping gently from the hilltop to the road. It is likely our chickens' new home, but we've still got planning to do.
We were out until sunset and got to see the light over Six Mile Mountain.
